South Chicago #RunWithPurpose 5K Fun Walk & Run

Join the On Purpose movement with the inaugural #RunWithPurpose 5K! This race has it all — two difference paces, a route that highlights community history, art, sport, and food, premium swag available for purchase, and a post-race reception experience that will give you first-look access to the architectural drawings that show the catalytic vision for this commercial space. The community run/walk is free but participants who want to support this project can make a donation of their choice. All proceeds will be used for the construction of Nia de la Tierra Cafe.  

This awesome route includes the South Chicago People’s Park, Derric Clemmons‘ Drive by Art, Steel Workers Park with an active rock climbing wall, Roman Villareal’s sculpture: Tribute to the Past, St Paul AME Church, Schafer Park, Urban Grower’s Collective farm + their Farmers Market will be open with fresh produce, Our Lady of Guadalupe’s Sunflower garden, a Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial, SkyArt building mural, & more!
